The empty space in your USB drive can be used as an additional memory cache to support the cache in your hard disk. 1. Go to Start -> computer

2. Right click the memory card or flash drive and click “properties”

3. Go to the ‘Ready Boost’ tab on the upper menu.

4. Select the “use this device” option

5. Adjust the “space to reserve for system speed” slider to choose the amount of flash memory you want to use to boot your system speed

6. Click ‘OK’

Ready Boost comes bundled with all windows 7 packages! Though there are some early windows vista machines that won’t have this option. Ready boost is also more effective with laptop hard-drives are usually clocked in at slower speeds which make the flash memory more effective
